Reopening our doors after lockdown 3.0

Reopening after lockdown

By Clare Farrow

This week we were able to reopen our doors to clients at long last!  We welcomed back nine regular volunteers on Tuesday who had all been previously trained to practise our Covid-safe ways of working. We helped eight clients at the centre, plus one client remotely with clothes and a meal.

The atmosphere was full of chatter, everyone happy to see each other again, clients, staff and volunteers appreciating what they enjoy from their time at Camrose.

Our Chef cooked a hot meal, this was followed by a delicious chocolate cheesecake.

There was a lot of reflection from all on lockdown #3 and how we have all coped – those involved in our ‘meals on wheels’ service since the beginning of February feeling grateful to have been part of such an important service.

It has been lovely to welcome back familiar faces in both clients and volunteers!
