By Mike, Chair of Trustees
Last night, in my small contribution to the Big Basingstoke Sleepout at home for Julian House and the Camrose Centre, it got to below 2 centigrade in my somewhat draughty and unheated shed, nevertheless I did get some sleep.
The most difficult challenge was getting into and out of my sleeping bag in a confined space with a dodgy knee! I’m not planning a repeat soon! However I did a lot of reflecting on my good fortune and what it all meant for someone who is genuinely homeless, sleeping on the streets, in cars, in derelict buildings and even in emergency accommodation with no home comforts or friends or family or support.
Thank you all for your donations.
